We just love Miniature Dachshunds!

Our story

My Husband and I had dogs when we were children, he had two Springer Spaniels and I, a Jack Russell and a cross Labrador & Collie. Having a dog is part of your family, someone you love, trust with your heart and enjoy life with. I have three Sons and our little bundles of joy, all six of them are an integral part of our family, little ones who help to fulfil our lives!

When I was a little girl a friend of mine had a black and tan sausage dog called Wellington, he had a cheeky character and playfulness that would light up the room. I have such fond memories of Wellington that it left me wanting a sausage dog of our own.

In 2015 the day finally came, not one but two! A black and tan and chocolate and tan, Didi and Lexi, our family pets who travelled to Dubai and back with us between 2016 and 2018. We loved our little ones so much we thought about adding to our pack. Instead we bred Lexi and kept one of her pups and you could say the rest is history…

When choosing your new friend or family member

It’s important that you choose a reputable breeder, someone that truly cares for your new pup as much as you will. All of our pups are nurtured and loved like our own, we play music to them in their early weeks, they have playtime with the Daxtroupe twice a day and we like to hang on to them until at least 12 weeks to ensure they have built the mental resilience with Mum and their own pack before coming to their new home.

What we check for

It’s important to us that you know what you’re letting yourself in for, that you’re ready for a new family member to provide the loving environment and attention a new puppy needs. And if you’re an experienced dog owner, it’s still important to be aware of the needs of your puppy and to introduce him or her gradually to your other dogs, who may need time to adjust before they welcome your new buddy into your family.

“I am here for you from start to finish to ensure your journey to having your new family member is easy and stress free”

- Jackie Abbott, Daxtroupe
